Rollins Savanna Trail
Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve – Lake County Forest Preserves
Located on 1,216 acres near Grayslake, Rollins Savanna is one of Lake County’s largest forest preserves. The Rollins Savanna design consisted of approximately 5.25 miles of 12-foot wide gravel trail, 0.25 mile of 8-foot wide gravel trail, including all erosion control, grading, drainage structures, seeding, boardwalks (wetland crossings), bridge (creek crossing), wetland restoration (w/ Ducks Unlimited), high pressure gas main crossing and signage. Site access improvements included two entrance drives with 42-car and 80-car asphalt parking lots. Permits included the Lake County Division of Transportation, Village of Grayslake, Gas Company, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Millennium Trail – Lakewood to Singing Hills Section
Lake County Forest Preserves
The Millennium Trail section extending from Lakewood Forest Preserve near Wauconda to Singing Hills Forest Preserve near Volo consists of approximately 7.5 miles of gravel trail in 14, 12 and 10 – foot widths. Design included all erosion control, associated demolition, grading, drainage structures, temporary access, temporary staging areas, tree removal, trail roadway crossings, wetland impact avoidance, detention basins, seeding, floodplain fills/compensatory storage, signage, and traffic signal modifications for pedestrian crossings. Site access improvements included an entrance drive and one 50-car/15-equestrian truck-trailer asphalt parking lot with detention basins. Permits included the Lake County Division of Transportation, Illinois Department of Transportation, Village and Township of Wauconda, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
