Pearson, Brown & Associates, Inc. (PBA), State of Illinois Professional Design Firm, Professional Engineering Corp., License No. 184001058 and State of Wisconsin Engineering Corporation License No. 878-011 was established in 1967 by Gilbert R. Pearson. PBA is a Consulting Civil Engineering Company specializing in all aspects of land development including stormwater management and water resources engineering.
The principals are Ronald A. Adams and Gus A. Zografos, who have been with PBA since 1973 and 1968 respectively. They are the sole owners since purchasing the remaining interests of James Brown in 1997. PBA has been located in Libertyville since 1980.
PBA has had the opportunity to service both local and national homebuilders, commercial developers and municipal clients in all phases of land development. PBA provides topographic mapping, feasibility studies (site constraints analysis), preliminary engineering, final engineering design, stormwater and floodplain management design, construction layout, designated erosion control inspections, record drawings, construction coordination and site management. We also provide permitting services at all levels of government including NPDES permitting for construction site stormwater discharges (design and preparation of soil erosion and sediment control plans and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans). PBA strives to design comprehensive stormwater management systems incorporating Low Impact Development techniques and Best Management Practices to the extent practical and permitted to prevent and mitigate impacts associated with the construction and long-term operation of the stormwater management systems within the development. We work integrally with the land planner at an early stage to develop land plans that are conservation oriented and cost effective from a construction standpoint.
Our staff includes professional engineers, engineers, CADD technicians, construction layout engineers and administrative staff. Many of which have been with the Pearson and Brown team for more than 20 years.
PBA’s staff size allows for Partner involvement throughout the entire development process. Our design philosophy is centered on a team-oriented approach to land development, where we specialize in site design and water resources engineering. We work with consultants specializing in their respective areas of the design team – architecture, planning, surveying, traffic, fiscal impacts, soils, wetlands, environmental, archeological, hydrogeology, structural and landscape architecture. This philosophy has served our firm well as many of our private clients have been doing business with the firm for over 40 years. Due to our rich history and experience we believe that we are able to serve our clients with designs and solutions that reflect a heavy emphasis on efficiency, accuracy and relevance.
